For sports, the Thanksgiving weekend is generally quiet. This year it seems busier than ever and one local tradition could be possible for local fans.
A tournament that brings the who’s who of former RWD and BRH players to the Reedsburg Area Community Arena, recently renamed the Alex Yacko Memorial Tournament will run for a ninth straight year on Saturday, Nov. 25.
Jeramy Greenwood, the tournament organizer puts together the event that takes over the local barn for about six hours, starting at 3 p.m. Along with a chance to see the players that represented the local varsity program, there are some nice raffle prizes, including Packers and Hockey Badgers tickets and a couple Connor Bedard Blackhawks jerseys.
Admission is free at RACA and funds raised at the local event will go to support area hockey programs.
