A season away from the action

I believe everyone is already aware I have left the Sauk County community at least for a while.

I hope to be back in town occasionally over the hockey season but I have returned to a small community north of Toronto for at least the near future.

My mother passed away a little more than five years ago and my father has asked me to come home to help him out for the next little while. Some may be surprised but while I love living in the Sauk County area, it took 10 seconds for me to respond favorably about returning to my roots just because it give me a chance to repay my father for all he has done for me over the years.

I have a small job working for the USPHL so I have been following the Ducks, including Coop’s amazing debut on Sunday…way to go Coop!

I look forward to following the varsity season and the youth hockey as much as I can as well, but can’t guarantee weekly write ups like before.

I don’t want to say goodbye to Saukhockey.info or its older sister Midwesthockey.info because they are projects that I have wanted to do for some time. But this will be at least a sabbatical for a while.

I will still be watching and cheering on Sauk County hockey teams and players. My plan is to get back for a couple days each month so hopefully I will still be able to sip a coffee in the local rinks at least a little bit this season.

Hope to see you all soon.
